Just thought I'd make it known that we did find a place already - we moved in February 1st.

Thanks to everyone who replied to this blog post via email.

If you're interested in seeing some pictures of our new place, you can view them (for a short time) at DMpix.com

Thanks again to all those who helped us find a place, and to all the landlords who contacted us.

Of course! That's not a problem at all. In fact, we always offer future landlords the opportunity to meet our dogs beforehand.

Our dogs always come along for the ride with us when we're viewing apartments, so it's as easy as coming out to the car to meet them.

There's an interesting article on BCLocalNews.com about how pets are good for rental units. Here's an excerpt:

Pets are good for rental units

...

Research shows people with pets stay an average of 46 months in their rental accommodation, compared to 18 months for people without pets. This means landlords save both time and money by not having to advertise their units as often and not having to frequently interview and screen new tenants.

...

Pets bring other benefits as well. Dogs specifically bring increased security to a unit because their guardians need to take them out several times a day, resulting in an informal neighbourhood watch program as tenants become familiar with each another and any strange activity around the building.

...
