House Wanted for Engaged Couple – Exceptional Tenants

Community: Close to Downtown and easily accessible by Transit. (Sunnyside, Kensington, Crescent Heights, Mission, Parkhill, Stanley Park, Bridgeland, Inglewood, etc…)

Details: Hi – we’re Daniel & Michelle and we’re looking for a house to rent for April 1st, 2009.

We’ve been living together for just over 4 years and both have steady, well-paying jobs that we enjoy; Michelle works in IT for a major Oil & Gas company in downtown Calgary, and Daniel works in IT/music from home.

We currently live in a beautiful 2 bedroom Victorian home in Sunnyside and pay $2100/month in rent, but are moving because of the ridiculously high utility bills (around $1000/month), and not to mention the fact that the stove/oven here doesn’t work properly… We’re looking to move to a house where everything works properly -- we always pay rent on time (sometimes early but never late) and are exceptional at taking care of where we live… Ideally, we’d like to find something that has been recently renovated, has a washer and dryer and has no carpet, but we’re staying open…

We are neat-freaks, organized and clean – we clean our house on a daily basis. We have a zero-tolerance for vermin of any kind (no mice, no cockroaches, no bugs of any kind at all) and we won’t rent a place with a history of vermin, even if it was years ago. We’re not open to that at all. On the flipside, you can be assured that you’ll be renting to exceptionally clean tenants who will not attract vermin to your property.

A location close to downtown would be ideal for us, and we’re not really interested in shared laundry or any sort of shared living arrangements. We don’t smoke or do any drugs and don’t have any late night parties or anything of the sort. Of course, we can provide excellent references if necessary. You can also find out more about us by reading this blog.

We also have three small dogs (not much bigger than the size of a cat) that mean the world to us. You can see photos of our dogs at the "dogs" tag.

All three of our dogs are hypo-allergenic non-shedding dogs and we are very responsible pet owners. Our oldest is Lorenzo (Maltese x Yorkie) at 3 years, then Cachita (Bichon x Cocker Spaniel) at 2 years, and Javier (Bichon x Yorkie) is the youngest at 8 months. All three dogs are neutered/spayed, licensed and up-to-date with shots, vet visits, etc. They only eat 100% certified-organic raw food so they’re exceptionally well behaved and their pee actually fertilizes the lawn (not burns it). Daniel works from home most of the time so he is home with them during the day, otherwise, they are very well behaved dogs when we’re gone. Most of the time though, we prefer to take them everywhere with us, whenever possible. Our dogs have travelled to many places with us and have stayed in numerous hotels – we’ve never had a problem with any of them :-) Simply put, anywhere we’ve rented or stayed (housing, hotels, lodges, etc.) our dogs have never been a problem; plus, they don’t shed, so it’s easy to keep things clean all the time.

If you have any questions, or have a house for rent that might interest us, please do not hesitate to contact us via email at or via cell phone at +1 (403) 690-4763. Thank you in advance!

Daniel & Michelle

PS – Daniel’s mother, who works as a chef, will probably be living with us too ;-)

There you have it! Pass it along to anyone you know who’s renting a house – thanks!

Update –

Thanks to everyone who responded to our ad! We received an overwhelming number of responses (through email) – much more than we were expecting – and are glad to report that we have now found a new home here in Sunnyside.

Once again, thank you to all those people who contacted us with their rental properties – we wish you the best of luck in renting your places out!
