Snow, Snow, Lotsa Snow!
by Daniel Menjívar • #torontoWhen Michelle and I got back to Toronto after spending the holidays in Calgary, we returned to a backyard full of snow adorned with squirrel and raccoon tracks. But less than a week later, all the snow had melted away and I was surprised to see that underneath all that snow, our grass was still green… in January!
And then just three weeks later we had a monolithic snow storm that left our backyard once again buried in snow. So much snow in fact, that Cachita was the only one of our dogs big enough to blaze a trail through the snow; Lorenzo and Javier are too small and they would get completely buried in the snow, but Cachita made a couple of trails for them so that they could go potty at the back of the yard, away from the house.
I’ll admit, it was funny to throw the dogs into the snow and watch them try to dig themselves out.
And now, we’re expecting that another large storm will dump a lot of snow on Toronto tonight. But we’re actually hoping that it’s a really bad storm with epic amounts of snow so that Michelle can work from home tomorrow!
On the subject of snow, I’ve had this song stuck in my head lately, I’m not sure why:
Cheesy, I know, but I couldn’t resist.
